Assistant Sales Representative

Reports To Sales Manager

Department Sun Microsystems - Sales
Summary
Provides administrative, telemarketing and end marketing support to end user sales representatives.
Responsibilities and Duties
Duties other than those specified may be assigned.
  • Responsible for administrative support, including order entry, customer service and sales support.
  • Conducts outbound telephone calls generating qualified sales leads.
  • Conducts outbound calls to verify existing account profiles and uncover additional information, and to upsell add-on products and services.
  • Attends training on sales, product and marketing strategies.
  • Demonstrates effective understanding of the sales cycle.

Education / Experience
Two/Four year college degree, or current pursuit of college degree. At least two years of sales/telemarketing experience.
Computer Skills
Microsoft Office required. Lotus Notes desired.

End User Sales Microsystems Representative

Reports To End User Sales Manager

Summary
Sells computer hardware and services for the company to business and industrial establishments over the phone. Develops and maintains end-user relationships to facilitate the sale and purchase of hardware from various accounts.
Responsibilities and Duties
Duties other than those specified may be assigned.
  • Quotes take out of available hardware at numbers that reflect market trends in relation to margin.
  • Quotes selling price of hardware while keeping market trends in mind to preserve margin.
  • Collects accounts receivables and manages shipping.
  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information via telephone, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
  • Identifies potential clients using advertising campaigns, mailing lists, and personal contacts.
  • Actively searches for new business and maintains current accounts in the form of calls, visits, entertainment, etc.
  • Maneuvers and manages databases and resources on computer.
  • Sets pricing with fellow brokers and discusses market conditions.
  • Maintains files, collects monies owed, and monitors payable/receivable status.
  • Works with customers on an ongoing basis fulfilling both a need to purchase and sell equipment

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and two to four years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
